Buffalo Blue Black Bean Burger

No this is not a new type of bean, but don’t run away just yet because this burger will not disappoint, trust me! I am definitely a meat eater, I honestly rarely ever go a day without having some sort of meat (go ahead judge away) so when I tell you that I would choose this burger over my usual turkey burger, you know it’s good.

This recipe was a combined effort by both Mike and I, so I can’t take all the credit. We’ve been wanting to make a bean burger for some time now but decided one day to finally just do it. But.. if we were going to skip the meat we needed this thing to be good! Well since we had this great buffalo sauce leftover from making the buffalo cauliflower the other day, we wanted to incorporate that, so it was only right to make a Buffalo Blue (cheese crumble) Black Bean burger, duh!

We decided to throw some avocado on top because why not?! It’s avocado I could put that on literally anything. And we also topped it off with these new pretzel buns we found at Whole Foods. This whole combo was surprisingly VERY filling, but I loved it. I wouldn’t probably continue to use the pretzel buns because I feel like it kind of over shadowed the burger at times, but it was good to change it up for a night.

Also making your own burgers is so much cheaper, and super simple…who knew! We made 4 big burgers with this recipes, and roughly it would be $1 a burger. We ended up just wrapping them directly after and throwing them in the freezer. This is will be happening on the regular!

2. Chop yellow onion, and stir in with garlic powder, chili powder, and oregano.
3. Mix in the egg, blue cheese crumble, hot sauce and panko.
4. Divide into 4 equal portions and form into burger shape.
5. Spray pan with non-stick and cook on medium heat for 6 minutes, then flip and cook for 6 minutes on the other side.
