This weekend I came to the realization that I need to start switching up some of my workouts. Sure, 25 minutes straight on the treadmill is a great workout but I need something new in my life heading into the new year. That, my friends, is why I bring to you the new 5-3-2 Workout.
This workout combines muscle conditioning, abs, and everyone’s favorite thing to do…cardio. Oh and by the way, if the treadmill isn’t your thing, it’s totally fine to switch it out for the bike or elliptical.
No matter which cardio machine you choose, you will be getting a great total body workout and the time will literally fly by. SCORE!

Here’s how it works:
1. Grab a pair of dumbells & a timer and leave in an area near your cardio machine.
2. Complete the 5 minute of treadmill sprints and immediately go grab your dumbbells.
3. Click the timer on for 3 minutes, and every 30 seconds do the designated moves above depending on what round you are in.
4. As soon as 3 minutes is up, it’s ab time! Complete 30 seconds of the 4 abs above (or abs of your choice) and you just completed 1 round!
5. Cycle through 3 times!
When I first did this I said to myself, I’m going to do this 3 times through and be done with it. Well I actually liked it so much I did 4 rounds, and seriously 40 minutes has never went by so fast.
Constantly changing gears is not only a good way to shock your muscles, but fight that gym boredom. This workout was a great way to burn off that pizza and beer I had this weekend…
