I love looking through photos and reflecting on what happened throughout the year. During 2013 I made a number of changes, and was able to try alot of new things, one of which was starting this blog! I decided to round up my favorite health and fitness type things, so here we go:
Favorite Race: Run for Your Lives Zombie 5K
Being a fan of the The Walking Dead, this was one race I’ve had my eye on. Mike and I decided to finally just give it a go this year. It was definitely interesting! Run for Your Lives 5K is a must do for people looking for a unique, off road type race.
Favorite Charity Event: Pancreatic Cancer Unite to Fight 5k Walk
This one was an obvious winner. My mother is a survivor of Pancreatic Cancer, so this walk hit close to home. Our team raised over $4,000 and was just an amazing event to be a part of.
Favorite Recipe: Kale, Bean & Sausage Soup
I have loved so many different foods I experimented with this year so this was a tough one. This soup has now become our staple is our home so I ended up going with this one. I’m not the biggest kale fan but I’m obsessed with it in this soup. Not only does this soup taste amazing, I love how filling it is.
Favorite Workout: Yoga
When 2013 came, I found a new love for yoga inversions and arm balances. I love how there’s always a new challenge and something to work on when it comes to yoga. This year the tripod headstand was probably greatest achievement. See a great step by step demo on how to learn a tripod headstand!
Favorite Non-Workout Workout: Surfing
When I first started blogging back in the summer, I wrote a quick post about my adventures in Florida surfing for the first time. Seriously surfing is way harder than it looks, and my abs and legs sure felt it the next day. (But man was it fun!!)
